Hi Jane. My understanding from Karen is that a CCB leader has been sharing transphobic talking points

http://billboardchris.com/

as Boston Children's Hospital is receiving bomb threats on a frequent basis.

Honestly,  this entire thread of online conversation is confusing me.  What is the main concern, please?  I do not understand.

Peace, Jane Binkerd

Yes, thank  you Mike.

I wasn't clear on the vote.
I know we wanted to endorse GRP speakers, but not the final location.

The struggle continues!

I will talk with Jill and report back to our next regular meeting.

We endorsed the event, not the location..

Do we have any contacts at the venues Karen mentioned? (When) did BMDC approve the location?

If we stick with CCB for this event then Boston May Day should make a clear, public statement at the event affirming the rights of our kids to receive gender-affirming care—that such decision-making should take place between people and their doctors without any sort of government intervention.

Karen,

I'm working with Jill on this event.

It was my proposal that BMDC endorse this event. My memory is that it passed with no concerns.

I don't remember voting on this, or any discussion and have attended all BMDC meetings at least since mid-September:

Join members of Extinction Rebellion Boston, XR Solidarity, Boston May Day Coalition, the Green-Rainbow Party, Community Church of Boston and more for an afternoon of power-building, analysis and solidarity!
Where: The Community Church of Boston
When: Sunday, December 10th from 3 – 5:30 PM
Why? To come together across movements to build collaboration to hold power accountable and explore collective action on the converging crises we face – from crushing inequality, to climate collapse, endless war & nuclear Armageddon. Come lay groundwork for peaceful direct action, mass mobilization and more to help us fight for our future!

How about the JP Baptist or E. Boston Lutheran Church or another venue?

Karen
